• distinguish between popular and scholarly periodicals
• choose an article database appropriate to your information need
• use it to identify an article on a topic
• use a database's print or email function to print or send a record to yourself
• determine whether a print or online copy of an article is available through the Library
• request an article from another Library through interlibrary loan
